We believe that every honorably discharged Marine or FMF Navy Corpsman or Chaplain has the right to a military funeral with full honors. If you are a member of Detachment 801, we will work with MACG 48 to provide a casket guard, MCL ritual, rifle volley, playing of Taps, flag folding and it's presentation to the next of kin within a reasonable distance of Lake County.
If we are notified at the same time as your funeral director, we will work with them to coordinate our services for a funeral in Lake County, Illinois. There is no charge for our services to detachment members.
Both Marine Corps Headquarters and the Department of the Navy require a copy of the deceased veteran's DD-214 or other document to verify both honorable and length of service. If you cannot locate a copy of this document, please request a copy following the link below.
